How on Earth is he gone and Bristol Palin is still on that show? I spent an hour last week on youtube watching Rick Fox's performances on DWTS. I'll admit I didn't vote, but COME ON people... There's something that doesn't seem "right" about the 4 that are left. Just saying...
Regardless, now that I don't have a horse in the race or get to see Rick Fox's booty shake (i.e. Fox has got "back"), I really don't care who wins. As far as I'm concerned, the show ended when Rick was eliminated. Incidentally, did you know that he's dating Eliza Dushku? I didn't... Wow. Good pull for her!

Does Millsap look lethal to you? Me neither, but today he was on fire against the Miami Heat. I logged into my Twitter account and noticed that Paul Millsap dropped a career-high 46 points tonight.
The Utah Jazz defeated the Miami Heat (i.e. in Miami) in overtime. The final score was 116-114. Hmmmm, I didn't watch the game but I can only assume that Chris Bosh couldn't play any defense... Well, it looks like this girl is going to sleep happy after all.

Last night the Pittsburgh Steelers played the Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium for the Monday Night Football game. Now, before you start thinking I'm really flighty ~ 1) Yes, I work and 2) No, I didn't go to the game.

I was just on the phone with my friend, Cyrus, and he was yapping about the Cleveland Browns. He was telling me that the team is looking solid and that he thinks that they might beat the New York Jets this week. Huh? I wasn't really paying attention to what he had to say, but the past few weeks do seem to indicate that the Browns are getting their act together. While Cyrus was going on and on about the Browns, I decided to check my personal email account.
As I was scanning my email account and getting ready to perform a mass delete, I realized that I had a nice little payment sent to me. Not bad for about 5 minutes of effort. Turns out that I correctly picked 10 games against the spread (ATS). The only ones I missed were the New England Patriots v the Cleveland Browns and the New York Jets v the Detroit Lions. Chicago Bears v the Buffalo Bills was a push.
10 games... Not too bad at all, since I've haven't really been paying attention to football since I've been traveling.
I didn't get the chance to tell Cyrus my good news, but it doesn't matter and I really doubt he cares. ****I have known Cyrus since college. His best friend was my college boyfriend. I hear from him few and far between, but he'll check in on Facebook. The only time he calls is when he's commuting home and bored in the car, but I digress...
Incidentally, I just checked my other pool (i.e. where I'm fighting for the wildcard), and I came in 2nd place last week. Hmmm... Looks like I may have found my mojo again... Woohoo!!! :-P

I wish Iverson the best in his latest endeavor. It's my understanding that he's arrived in Turkey, since my friend posted the video of Iverson getting mobbed as he arrived in the country to play for Besiktas Istanbula'da.

I was in Dallas last weekend and I heard the radio guys' reactions to the Cowboys season. I laughed out loud when I heard one of the men groan when Wade Phillips was at the mic talking. He wasn't thrilled that Wade was at the mic talking, because obviously it meant that Wade was still the coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
I've heard Jerry Jones say that's he's "standing by his man" and that Philips will remain coach for the rest of the season. With Romo out with a broken clavicle and Jon Kitna "playing" quarterback, things have got to be unbearable in the locker room, on the field, etc. I can't fathom what it must feel like to be a part of the Dallas Cowboys organization, when the tean has a record of 1-7. Further, it just can't be fun to be a Cowboys fan right now. All my friends who are Cowboys fans are extremely frustrated. It must be incredibly awkward to be Cowboys fan and know that in a few months that Super Bowl XLV is coming to town, especially since it was almost expected that after last year's performance, that the Cowboys would at least be in contention for a post-season...
I went to the new Cowboys Stadium in January to watch the Cowboys play the Philadelphia Eagles for the NFC Wildcard game. I bought a hat at the game, and have no idea where that hat is now. Needless to say, I won't be needing it this year so I have more than enough time to look for it. The Cowboys won the game I attended and went on to play the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis. Ultimately Brett Favre and the Vikings ended the Cowboys' season. Incidentally, I was at that game also. **** Check my earlier posts from January, if you're curious.
I barely watched the game tonight. I'm not a Green Bay Packers fan, and I knew that the Dallas Cowboys would lose. I ran into my friend, Tommy, on my way home from the Washington Capitals game and he said he thought that the Cowboys would cover tonight's spread. That made me laugh. I have no idea what the spread was for tonight's game, but I would've spotted the Cowboys 10 points easily and still taken the Packers. **** The final score was 45-7, and the Packers won. Tommy, I told you so!
I'm not saying that I think the Cowboys are quitting for the rest of the season. I'm not going to pretend that I've been following them enough to care. I'm just saying that after watching Green Bay play against the Redskins (i.e. even though the Packers lost) and the Vikings (i.e. even though the game went down to the wire), it was obvious to me that the Cowboys would get blown out tonight.
The only thing that really made an impression on me today was Clay Matthews Jr. I really want him to shave his head. His stringy hair drives me nuts. That's my 2 cents.

Today the Philadelphia Flyers were in town to take on the Washington Capitals at the Verizon Center, and guess who was sitting pretty 2 rows behind the Caps bench... Yep, this girl. My friend (i.e. who my brother and I have known since we were maybe 6 years old and moved to the DC area about a year ago), Scott, told me (i.e. and another childhood friend who was in town) at dinner last night, that he had never been to a Caps game before. I couldn't believe it. It's been about a year since he moved to the DC area and he hadn't seen the Caps in action?!?! Well, that's just unacceptable, so I took it upon myself to rectify the situation.
Before the game, I told him that I thought the final score would be 3-2, and that the Caps would win. YES, I was right. Don't believe me? Why would I lie?!?! I told you I was somewhat psychic...
I decided that for this game, I wanted to sit at center ice near the Capitals bench. Normally I like to sit towards the side that the Caps shoot twice, but since this was my first game of the season I just wanted to focus on taking some good shots of the players. Plus, since it was my friend's first time at the game, I wanted to make sure he got a good look at Alexander Ovechkin. Ovechkin was relatively quiet during the game, but I managed to get some great shots.

My first hockey game for the season is now "in the books". The Caps now have a record of 10-4, and continue to lead the Southeast Division. GO CAPS!!!!
I was looking at the schedules earlier today and noticed that the Cleveland Cavaliers are visiting the Washington Wizards tonight at the Verizon Center. For a minute I thought about checking it out. A minute...
This year is different. Even though I'm an Ohio girl and I'm still a Cavs fan, I don't think I can bring myself to go to the game. I took a look at the roster and can't get myself to get excited and sit in my "usual" seat behind the Cavs bench.

Actually, for this game, I'd almost be willing to reconnect with some folks that I knew from my days in Cleveland and are affiliated with the Wizards now... BUT, I'm not going to do that either. Not tonight.
As I look through all my albums with so many pictures of the Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers, it's amazing how many of the people have moved on. Most athletes are journey man. They can be nomadic because of free agency. They get traded, and/or eventually retire. Look at the picture below from Game 6 of the Playoffs in 2008. None of the guys in the picture play for the same organization now, that they did 2 years ago.
Oh, and if you think I'm going to get all dolled up and head to the Verizon Center to see Anderson Varejao, well... You don't know me at all. Sorry... I have to be honest. Ugh, that reminds me. I need to find my "Got Boobie?" shirt. I like Daniel "Boobie" Gibson and that T-shirt still makes me chuckle...
In a world with so much player mobility, it's no surprise to me that some teams have adopted a "generic" approach to promotion. In Cleveland, where LeBron James' image was ubiquitous, I'm not surprised that there isn't a face associated with the organization anymore.
